Style

Not your average acrylic paint. Heavy texture acrylics possess a super thick viscosity and buttery texture that’s suited for sculptural painting techniques. Its consistency is smooth yet has the right amount of resistance to hold stiff peaks, glide effortlessly across painting surfaces, and paint 1-6 inches in thickness.

This color is dedicated to Justin's Grandmother, Marjorie Potts Gaffrey. She was born in 1911 in New York and spent most of her life in St. Petersburg, Florida. Justin and his siblings would spend their summers with their Grandmother fighting over Troll Dolls, picking fresh citrus from trees in the neighborhood, and fishing for clams on the beach. Marge was an avid painter and was active in the Suntan Art Center in St. Pete, FL. There was a painting hanging above her mantle that always perplexed a young Justin. Specifically a shade of green. Marge is a big inspiration in Justin's work where he weaves historical fiction into his paintings. 42 years later, Justin decided to make a color in honor of her self-deprecating humor, generosity, and joyfulness. She lived to 99 years old living life to its fullest. Her favorite things were drinking a gimlet and eating soft butter at The Treasure Ship Restaurant.
